Jennifer Lawrence and her mom, Betty Phillips, founded ITHM in 1997 after Jennifer served in Romania for two years. Jennifer was passionate about helping the most desperate children. After serving for eight years in Romania and returning to the States, the opportunity came to serve some of the 14 million orphans in Africa. 

When Jennifer Lawrence started out as a young missionary, she had no idea how she would feed and clothe kids on a daily basis. God has led ITHM for the last 20 years, and we have seen hundreds of children helped through the team effort of donors and those of us working “on the ground.”

Johnny Lawrence joined ITHM after marrying Jennifer in 2009. He has assisted with work in the Sudan. Long before he and Jennifer married, he was offering valuable advice and assistance to ITHM. He is now the General Manager of the Treasure Houses. 

As we enter into expansion, we have the same hope and faith that the Lord will continue to guide us in rescuing and equipping hundreds more. Hang on with us for this great adventure!
