A Smart Way to Give: Donating Stock or Your RMD to ITHM
If you want your giving to make the biggest impact—and also be tax-smart—donating appreciated stock or using your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) is one of the best ways to support International Treasure House Ministries (ITHM).
Why Donate Stock?
Donating long-term appreciated stock directly to ITHM allows you to:
a. Avoid capital gains tax
b. Deduct the full fair-market value
c. Increase your impact without increasing your cost
Instead of selling your stock and paying tax, you can donate it directly and give the full value to support children and families in Kenya.
Using Your RMD (QCD Giving)
If you’re 73 or older, you must take an RMD from your IRA each year. By sending it directly to ITHM as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), you can:
a. Satisfy your RMD
b. Exclude it from taxable income
c. Potentially lower your tax bracket and Medicare premiums
It’s one of the most tax-efficient ways for retirees to give.

How to Give
To donate stock: Ask your financial advisor or brokerage to transfer shares directly to ITHM.
To give through your RMD: Instruct your IRA custodian to send a QCD directly to ITHM. (It must go straight from your IRA to qualify.)
ITHM will provide a tax receipt for either type of gift.

Absolutely. Any personal or financial information you enter is encrypted using SSL security – the same state-of-the-art security measures used by online retailers, banks, and other financial institutions.
What Payment Methods do you Accept?
We accept donations from credit/debit cards as well as your Bank Account (our recommendation). While we’re happy to accept your donation by any means, Bank Account donations cost significantly less, allowing more of your gift to go towards ministry.
Do I need to Create an Account?
No. That said, we do recommend creating one so that you can view your online giving history. Also, you will be asked to create an account if you’d like to setup recurring donations.
Will I Receive a Receipt When I Give Online?
Yes. You will be emailed a donation receipt each time you give. Again, we recommend creating an account so you can view all your online giving history.
